This was our first initiative and it took place in April 2015. We offered primary schools the possibility to receive free English children´s books. We wanted to give schools a helping hand in setting up their own English book corners. So in June 2015, my little helpers and I, packed up around 1000 used and new books and sent them to Dutch Primary schools all over the Netherlands. Have a look: 40s BiBx.
I think Books in a Box was a start of something bigger. It provided schools initial help with setting up their own English school library. It helped them try out something without having to invest money or too much time. Some schools were so kind to send photos in of their little English corner and many schools continued collecting English books and promoting reading English.
