Little English School Library Concept

In 2016, The Little English Library offered 13 Dutch primary schools the opportunity to join. These 13 schools would receive support in setting up their own English school libraries. They would receive advice, books throughout the year but also a starter pack with material and books provided by EP-Nuffic, British Council NL and publishers such as Usborne, Oxford University Press and Penguin. Starter Packs:

We were looking for (Dutch) primary schools who are part of a cluster, system or quite rural. And by September 2016, all spots have been taken. Setting up a library, takes time but have a look at some photos from participating schools who already had a small existing collection of English children´s books and really wanted to get the ball rolling.

And here you can see some photos from our first Little English School Library at the Montessori + Breda. This library was a finalist in the SLA Inspiration Awards 2015. It is home to over 2000 English children´s books.
