Onderwijs 2032 – and we are so ahead of time. Together with The American Book Center, The Little English Library has just donated around 250 English children´s books to the PABO teacher training academy at AVANS, Breda. The books will be managed by the PABO link-librarian and available for trainnee teachers at Xplora. Teacher trainees will be able to use these books for their studies but also take with them on their work placement.

When Lynn, the co-owner of the American Book Center and I spoke about what we wanted to achieve together it was quite clear – we joined forces to get more English books to children in the Netherlands. We wanted to focus on supporting PABO (Primary School) teacher training academies and school libraries. Now, only a few weeks after working together, the first steps have been made. Hundreds of new books donated by ABC have already been handed over to the Learning Centre Xplora at AVANS. The books are now going to be added to their system and put on the shelves for the AVANS PABO trainee teachers to use during their studies and placements. The library team hopes to have everything ready by this year´s Kinderboekenweek. I am delighted to announce that The Little English Library has joined forces with the wonderful American Book Centre in Amsterdam / The Hague. We will be working together to support Dutch Primary Schools and PABO Teacher Training Academies with their English children’s book collections.
