Nearly the end of term …

Screenshot 2015-06-10 at 17.39.30And yes, it is nearly the end of term and the end of a busy year for The Little English Library. I am delighted to say that our last Books in a Box will be arriving next week at its new home. We have sent out over 700 books to Dutch primary schools all over the Netherlands and have received in exchange some fabulous photos. It seems little English book corners are now popping up in school libraries. Fabulous.

Our last box will be our Box number 20. So what now? Well, SWAP 20 – a book lending programme for local teachers which will be starting next academic year. And, I hear our library might be getting some extra space / shelving … So big a Thank You to all little readers, library supporters, Montessori +, ASIS/ AVANS and Rachel from Titch Design for her fabulous new SWAP 20 poster. Oh and fingers crossed for July when we find out how far we made it in the UK School Library Competition / Inspiration Award 2015.

SWAP 20

imagesIt’s been a busy year and with only 2 more months until the end of term it is time to start winding down. Since March we have packed up 19 Books in a Box which means over 700 books have gone out to Primary schools all over the Netherlands and have added over 150 new books to The Little English Library. We have still got our panel interview for the SLA award in June and finally I’d like to share with you SWAP 20. SWAP 20 will start in the new academic year and is pretty much a book borrowing system for local teachers. We will be piloting the idea with 5 local schools / teachers but more in the new year…

So apart from tidying up shelves, adding a few more books, I think it is time to cruise to the end of term. Thanks for all the support and fingers crossed for the SLA competition.

Our new members

And look at all these lovely book-character soft toys who will be joining The Little English Library after the holidays. Bob, Grandma & Paddington, can’t wait to put them on display with the books, they will look great.

Spring

And it is spring in the library. The Kleuters (4-6 year olds) are working on the IPC Unit for Plants, Flowers & Catepillars.
