After Marvin’s success, please let me introduce you to Elsie, his little friend. Marvin & Elsie will be on our next flyer / poster campaign which will be out in January 2015. Like Marvin, Elsie has been designed by Rachel from TitchDesign – Thanks Rach! I love Elsie!
IPC & The Little English Library
As many of you already know, The Little English Library is based in a Dutch Primary School (Montessori + Breda) and this school runs the wonderful International Primary Curriculum, IPC.
A few weeks ago my daughter’s class started the “Speelgoed” Unit (Toys) and she is loving it. I remember looking at the IPC website some time ago and thinking wow, how clever, how creative. So, for this week, The Little English Library has got the same theme as my daughter’s class: TOYS…and she was very impressed when she came out off class today and passed by the library.
Paddington is sitting on his (her) little suitcase, Toy Story is out, Bob the Builder building blocks … hope the children have as much fun as I had creating this display. For more info on the IPC click here.
CILIP September 2014
In September The Little English Library was featured in the magazine of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, short CILIP. Two months after publication, we are finally able to share this wonderful 2-Page article. A massive THANK YOU to Helen Redding from Crumbs Publishing for writing this amazing article.

Marvin …
Monster Marvin is turning out to be a popular little thing. I overheard a 10- year-old boy at the Montessori reading Marvin’s short story out loud while walking through the library. He got to the bit where Marvin eats doorhandles and socks and you could hear him laughing and saying to his friends: Jongens, hij eet SOKKEN! (Boys, he eats SOCKS!)
Marvin the Monster
We are ready and decorated and there is also a scary surprise for our little members: we have had some Monster Good Reader Cards printed. Marvin the Monster is fabulously scary-cute – please help yourself, you will find them in the library. Thanks to Rachel (TitchDesign) for designing them and Angela (Breda Bumblebees) for sponsoring them.
